Presenting Ganesh Upadhyay: Yoga Spirit Festival Malaysia 2014 Teacher Line Up


Ganesh Upadhyay was brought up in the yoga tradition since a young child in Nepal and India. He has been practising for over 20 years and has studied yoga at the Vivekananda Yoga University in Bangalore, Divine Life Society in Rishikesh, Bihar School of Yoga in Munger and KPJ Ashtanga Yoga Institute in Mysore. He holds a Master in Sanskrit and Vedic Philosophy from Banaras Hindu University, and frequently participates in yoga conferences around India.

Ganesh is a highly enthusiastic teacher with bounds of energy and creativity, and is extremely willing to share his knowledge and experience. He has a natural flair for understanding the human physical, energetic and mental faculties which enables him to help every individual to work to his or her fullest potential.

Ashtanga Primary Led Series


Ashtanga Yoga is a 5,000 year old set sequence of postures designed to bring incredible, strength, flexibility and endurance to the body and a sense of stillness to the mind. This strong intro class will teach the fundamentals of ashtanga yoga, sun salutations, ujjayi breath, energy locks and vinyasas to prepare the student for the full primary series of ashtanga yoga. Ashtanga’s intensity can also invoke positive life transformations off the mat, helping you to live fully, with a deep sense of Self, in your daily life. The Ashtanga (“eight limbs”) system is a deeply spiritual practice helping you to connect to your soul and to God.

Ashtanga Primary Series: Also known as Yoga Chikitsa (Yoga Therapy) This class refers to the full primary series of the ashtanga system, as taught in the tradition of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, India. This flowing, set, sequence of postures utilizes ujjayi breath and bandhas (energy locks) to increases muscular strength, flexibility, concentration and to deepen one’s connection to Self and God.

Presenting Festival Classes and Teachers

Tripsichore Yoga with Cyarhine



In this Tripsichore Yoga sessions, we will unravel the intricate usage of proper ujjayi breath in progressive asana sequences to further expand and refine your practice within a backbend setting. The practice will be based on the techniques and sequences of Tripsichore Yoga.


Tripsichore Yoga is a vinyasa yoga system created by Edward Clark with the focus on even-metered breath with movement to attain steadiness in the mind.

In each session, expect strong focus on the fundamentals, refinements, details and variations pertaining to the usage of ujjayi breath to deepen your backbend experience in a safe and comfortable manner.


This will be a strong All Levels intensive; suitable for everyone who is interested to expand their inversion and backbend repertoire.

Cyarhine Chee (徐子谚) the founder and director of Pro Yoga has been teaching and conducting workshops since 2006 in Taiwan and throughout Malaysia.
